Hunter Brant

Hunter Brant - Oakwood Realty GroupHunter was born and raised in Jacksonville and attended the University of Florida earning degrees in Finance and Forest Management. After graduation Hunter returned to Jacksonville where he now resides with his wife Kristina, their three daughters, and one son. Before forming The Oakwood Companies in 2012, Hunter was previously employed by GreenPointe Holdings, a Jacksonville based real estate development and investment fund, as the senior analyst in charge of real estate acquisitions and market research. At The Oakwood Companies, Hunter heads the Real Estate Brokerage Company.

As president of Oakwood Realty Group, Hunter has built his business on the trust of his clients and his ability to deliver expertise in real estate transactions.

Experience:

2012 – Present
Founder and President of Oakwood Realty Group and B&W Habitat – Mr. Brant started the company in Jacksonville, FL in 2012 as a land brokerage focused on high quality recreational, investment and plantation type properties in North Florida. The company expanded to include those same types of properties in Georgia in 2014 and then added South Carolina in 2019.  Oakwood Realty Group has closed $97M in high-quality land sales since 2019, included in that are notable sales of the 5,467-acre Gustafson Ranch in North Florida, 5,787-acre Bright Hour Ranch in central Florida and the 3,217-acre Cabin Bluff sale in Sea Island, Georgia.   Alongside Oakwood, Hunter founded and grew B&W Habitat, a consulting and advisory firm to better assist clients in managing and improving their properties. B&W specializes in consulting forestry and wildlife management in Georgia and Florida.

2008 – 2012 
GreenPointe Holdings, Jacksonville, FL – Land Acquisition and Senior Analyst for GreenPointe, a southeast U.S. focused real estate fund focused on acquiring distressed real estate projects and the associated debt for the purpose of re-positioning those assets at the appropriate time.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree, Finance with a minor in Forest Management, University of Florida

Achievements:

Hunter worked as a sportfishing captain after college traveling in the Caribbean and the east coast of the US targeting billfish. He won numerous tournaments and headed a competitive traveling sportfishing operation for seven years.
Oakwood Realty Group began as a start-up and was built to a high-quality land brokerage company covering two states and averaging over $10M per year in sales in its early years. Of special significance to Hunter in his Brokerage career is the sale of the Gustafson Ranch in 2018-2019 for $28M in three parts. At its peak, Gustafson was the largest dairy operation east of the Mississippi and one of Florida’s most iconic cattle ranches.  The ranch was bought by a lifelong friend who continues that legacy on today.

Personal:

Hunter’s faith in God is the cornerstone of his life and the guiding force in all that he does. He has four children, three girls and a boy. He has been married to Kristina since 2008. He enjoys sharing his clients’ passions for the outdoors, particularly fishing and hunting, and feels grateful to God for the opportunity to do what he loves to do for a living.
